19's in michigan

I am considering going with 19 inch 448's, but I live in michigan. is that a sane choice? The roads are pretty bad with potholes how easy is it to actually bend a rim. I've had 18's on all summer, and had no problem, is it that much of a difference?

Forged wheels are really hard to bent but I'm not sure about HRE tho.
I live in NY. To be safe I'm getting 18's...

Michigan, like Detroit area or the UP? Makes a big difference. In either place you're probably going to want a second set of wheels for snow tires, and if you go with 19" rims you must have snow tires. If you keep tire pressure up the strength and tire protection difference between 18" and 19" is not all that much different. If you hit a pothole hard enough to bend/break an 19" rim it would probably bend/break an 18" rim.
