I found a a '99 323i auto with 123,xxx miles on it for $5,000. I've looked at the car but haven't gotten a chance to drive it yet. It's a pretty clean car all the way around. Body has a small pinhead dent in the hood, and at the tip of the back left wheel well there is a small dent as well... It comes with a full size spare and I noticed some of the pieces to the tool kit were missing.

The engine is clean and the car has been serviced at BMW. It was just taken to BMW for an inspection on any work it might need done and they recommended changing the valve cover gasket and repairing a small leak in the power steering hose. They also recommended replacing the rotors, pads, and sensors within the next year which are all things I could do...

The car has a clear title of course, clean CarFax, etc. The owner hasn't been driving it the past few months because his job requires him to do a lot of driving every day, so he bought a ford focus to dump miles on. He is selling it because his wife is pregnant with their first child and they need extra money.

The pictures below are the only ones I have of the car and they kind of suck cuz the guy took them when it was getting dark. I'd appreciate your opinions!!!

I know for a fact that it has reverse. I started to take it for a test drive but only got to go around the block cuz the guy had to be at work by a certain time. But it backed up fine outta the driveway.

it sounds like a ok deal but it all depends on the tranny if it is the factory tranny or if it has been replaced or rebuilt. after that tidbit see what options it has like sport, premium, a cd changer, navigation, etc...

Sounds like a winner to me. Especially if you have records. Check the records to see if the transmission has been serviced before (e.g. drain, refill, filter change) and if the waterpump has been replaced. Check to see if you can take the car for another test drive at highway speeds. If everything's fine after the drive, I'd make payment arrangements. Good luck.
