My guess is that the 18"s handle better. What is the word from the autocrossing/track day guys?

i was thinking 18s too...
but i don't track or have a m3.

I think it is more a question of the width of the tires as oppose to the diameter of the rims.
In terms of speed 18's over the 19 IMO because 18s can do more revolutions than the 19s.

19s would make it look much better but i am happy with the 18s because they are much lighter than the OEM m72 rims i had previously.

i say it depends on 2 things

width of the rim (wheel) and if you have so3 high perf tires or
track tires if you go to the track.they are 1/2 slick and half perf. tire
but for the street you would get better handerling with a soft compound tire with a wide patch of rubber on the ground..
