Ths weekend I'm ordering a set of beyern mesh 18" rims
What I'm wondering is what the widest tire I can run in the rear would be with out rubbing.

Currently running on stock sport suspension on my '03 325Ci with
17x8"ET47 and
225/45R17 (634.3mm diameter ~ 24.97")

So the rims are
18"x8.5"ET40 front
18"x9.5"ET45 rear

And looking around and doing my own calculations I've gotten nowhere

1.
235/40R18 front (645.2mm diameter ~ 25.40")
255/40R18 rear (661.2mm diameter ~ 26.03")

2.
225/40R18 front (637.2mm diameter ~ 25.08")
255/35R18 rear (635.7mm diameter ~ 25.03")

3.
235/35R18 front (621.7mm diameter ~ 24.47")
255/35R18 rear (635.7mm diameter ~ 25.03")

Out of these what do you usually run on 18" rims.
Or if I'm off completly let me know what is correct

255/40 = too tall

235/35 = too short
