I currently have 16" Blizzacks and they are phenominal in the snow. Since I got my wife a 323iT this summer I need to get her some winters as well.

I was considering giving her my 16"s and making my OEM 17" wheels my snow wheels with 17" Blizzacks.

I feel like a tank in the snow with my 16"s.

Will I feel just as confident with 17"s?

PS Would it help to go 205/50-17 instead of 225/45-17?

PPS I am planning on getting new rims this spring, so my current 17" wheels might just take up space in my garage if I get another set of 16" steel rims and tires.

Your maximum winter traction setup would be the 225/45R17 Blizzak WS-50.

205/50R17 would help a bit, but at this time only the high performance H rated snows are made in that sizing. Despite being a bit wider, the more aggressive tread pattern and special compound of the 225/45R17 WS-50 would have better snow performance than any of the 205/50R17 snows.

Not quite as well in deeper, unpacked snow as they are a bit wider by about one inch. However, with the WS-50 it will be pretty close.

Thanks, I'll prob wait til the 1st snow, see how my wifes all-seasons do and make a decision then. I'll let you know.
