The reason they make a chip like that for the S4 is because they run turbos. When you increase the “boost” there’s a greater chance of detonation. Being that BMWs are naturally aspirated they don’t this risk, but it is beneficial to run 100 octane for optimal performance, it'sjust not nice to your pocket book.isaacly said:

Does anyone know if there is a company that makes a chip for our cars that runs on 100 octane? I know that APR makes a chip for Audi S4's that gives you the choice to switch through three different modes, including a third mode for running only 100 octane gas. Is there anything like this out there for our cars? Are there any companies that could custom make something like this? Thanks in advance:thumbup:
