Does anyone know if there is a company that makes a chip for our cars that runs on 100 octane? I know that APR makes a chip for Audi S4's that gives you the choice to switch through three different modes, including a third mode for running only 100 octane gas. Is there anything like this out there for our cars? Are there any companies that could custom make something like this? Thanks in advance:thumbup:

dang 100 octane
The reason they make a chip like that for the S4 is because they run turbos. When you increase the “boost” there’s a greater chance of detonation. Being that BMWs are naturally aspirated they don’t this risk, but it is beneficial to run 100 octane for optimal performance, it'sjust not nice to your pocket book.

Are there any High octance places like that on the East coast?
I've never seen one. Only at race tracks....hahaha.....

The best I've found is that 94 oct at Sunoco

I can't believe how much some of you guys have to pay for gas right now. $2.10 for premium? Holy sh*t. We're paying about $1.80 for the same sh*t and I thought that was expensive:sad:

Many of the chips available for older model BMW's that run 87 octane modify the spark advance so that it can take advantage of 91 octane. The chips we have in our E46's are tuned by BMW to take full advantage of 95 octane (however, the computer will automatically detune the software if it figures out you aren't using 95). I don't know of any chips that take advantage of 100 octane. But, you can mix 100 octane with 91 octane to get 95. I do that when I go to the track.

just a note on the 'octane boosters available. whe nthey say they raise the octane by 3-5 points they are reffering to the number after the point. i.e.. 92 octane would be 92.5 octane, so as you can see it is not worth the money however mixing in the 100 will do more for you, or run it strait, but the DME will only be able to get so much out of 100. I think on most NA motors anything past 98 is lost money.
