When backing out of a driveway or a parking space, my 2002 325Ci with a Steptronic exhibits a momentary jerky slippage (or slight lurching) after shifted from reverse to drive. It happens just as I apply the gas to begin moving forward.

This does not happen if I come to a full stop after backing out and then move the selector to drive and wait about one second before applying the gas.

Anyone else experiencing this with the automatic transmission on the newer 3-series cars?

Thanks.

Yeah thats happened to me as well, I just figuered I was shiftng a little too quick for the car, no big deal, just come to a complete stop before you put it back into drive.

Once my car shut down

The tranny went into protection mode when shifting to quickly from reverse to drive when the car was still rolling backward slightly. I had to put my foot on the brake to shift into park to re-start the car. Luckily I wasn't performing some kind of quick move on a road somewhere.
