Well the battery light came on, on the dash and shortly after the car wouldn't start anymore. This morning I jump started the car and after the car started, the idle was erratic idling from 200-~1500-2000 rpms and the check engine light came on while doing that...i shut it down immediately after that.


Anyone know what might be causing this?

Check your KOER (key on, engine running) voltage across the battery terminals. It should be at least 13.5V (and likely a bit over 14.0V). If it's not, your alternator is dead.

Even with the alternator dead, would that cause the idle to be erratic like that? That seems more like the Idle Control Valve, but it's just weird that it would happen just as we jump started the car...
