I was looking at this website and quite surprised to see this!!! I mean i have heard 330's are underrated in 0-60 and 1/4 mile times but this seems a little bit off.... don't you think?? I'd say this is nearly impossible for a 330!!!!:dunno:

Check this out!!

BMW has always been known to publish consevative figures on their cars.

5.73 is a stretch though. However look at the quarter mile time 14.5 isnt hard to pull off.

as for step transmissions, my stock auto car did a 14.67 in the drag strip so anything is possible. Also, a really old issue of road and track published a 330i with automatic transmission with 6.3 or 6.4 seconds o-60 times. However the newer issus no longer have that posted, instead they have the manual stats of newer reviewed 330.

theres only one way to tell - get a GTECH and do your own car. BMW publishes 8.1 sec for 325i steptronic but i got 7.72

some cars are just stronger than others too

328: 193hp

325: 184hp

About the 330ci and CL Type S: They got 0-60 times of 5.8 and 5.9 resectively. with 1/4 mile times of 14.4 and 14.5 respectively. I was talking to a guy at RMS, and he even said that BMW underrates their performance figures, and engine output numbers. One guy at my330i.com got 205whp and 202 - 205 wtq on a stock 5-speed 330! The 3.2CLType S doesn't even get 200whp out of that 260 hp engine. It also depends on the car, even individual cars of the same model are going to be different.

I am not too sure about all models. But, a buddy of mine told me that my 330Ci Sport can do 0-62mph in 5.9 secs as stock, according to some reputable British motoring magazines.

I think when BMW publish their figures, they need to remain conservative in declaring them, as every car will no doubt vary somewhat (even if it is by a few milliseconds). Also, every driver's style of handling, throttle control, gearchange and limits differ.

Personally, I have not tried to get 5.9 secs out of my car, in fear of causing premature damage to it (before running-in).

I am quite sure another friend of mine (owns a convertible 330Ci with front Autograph bumper and 19" rims - very sweet - sorry no pics) said that he got 6.2 secs, which can be believable considering the way he drives.

My opinion, it is not the speed at which you drive, it is how you drive which matters. Be safe and be cool.
