Hello, Vehicle in question is a 2003 E46 325XiT Auto. I'd like to start off by saying that I completely understand that a new OEM radiator is "better" and less hassle than what I'm asking to do but let me proceed. I live by Death Valley California where the highs can get to 120°F (49°C for...

This is my first post here but I’ve owned a 2000 323i touring for about 3 months now and the radiators blown, they quoted me 700 and there’s no way I’m affording that, I did a bit of research and people seem to be saying it’s a pretty straight forward thing I can do at home (I have a decent...

Hi All, Longtime observer, first time trouble poster. After an admittedly too long winter storage (6 months) I excitedly got back to my 2006 e46 M3 today for a long weekend of driving only to be greeted by the threatening yellow glow of a coolant light. F*CK. Wondering how to proceed from...

I have a e46 touring. The radiator is full. When idle for a few minutes the radiator light goes on, and then few minute later it overheats. When i drive the light goes off and car cool down. This happens about 3 times per week only not permanent. What can the reason be?

Please drop me a sentence or 2 if your tank & sensor are OEM .. but your "low tank" light pops on inappropriately. Our 2003-4 coupe & sedan both do that. Yellow dash light turns unexpectedly when the engine when temp, level are fine. If you do experience that does it typically happen when you...

Okay as part of my cooling system overhaul, i'm wondering if the Mishimoto Performance Aluminium Radiator Non-M (MMRAD-E46-323A) is worth it. I'm all for performance mods and I have already gotten their CAI kit installed. Although, i'm not sure if it is truly worth the money compared to the...

Hey guys, lately I’ve been gathering all the supplies to do a full cooling system overhaul as I feel it would be a good time to do it because I have the car stored away. I got everything put together and all went well until I went to fill my coolant back up and noticed a small drip from the...

So I have a 2000 e46 215k. About a month ago, my thermostat popped and I had to replace it. Did it myself, no problems. Fast forward to last weekend. The radiator reservoir busted and I had to park it immediately. Fixed it the next morning. New radiator reservoir and sensor.. everything fixed...

Ive been having this issue for months now, i like to do my own work on my car but this one stumps me. I can fill my radiator completely full, drive it for a couple of hours, then the next day ill start it up and its low and the radiator light is on. Ive looked under the car, no leaks. Ive...

I'm installing a new radiator today and when I get this plastic piece that supports the expansion tank on, this hole is still wide open causing coolant to leak out when everything's installed and im filling it back up. There was no plug on the old radiator, nothing that came with this radiator...

I have tried everything short of replacing the entire ECU to get the aux fan to start on my Automatic 2002 330i, Brand new lower hose temp sensor Brand new aux fan fan is getting 12v at the plug fuse 37 was not blown but replaced it anyway just to rule it out wire to ECU has continuity and is...

It's weird. Im just going to spill what was done and things that appear wrong for me. Everything started with leaks and I figured maybe engine is overheating and has too much pressure in the cooling system. When engine is warm upper hose is stiff and hot, lower hose is cold. INPA readings are...

Hi, I was driving in my 2003 325i automatic when I noticed it was overheating, I stopped got out of the car and my coolant expansion tank blew up. I guessed I was low on coolant so it overheated. The next day I replaced it, filled it up, bled it, but I wasn't getting warm air from the air vents...

Hi everyone, i have an e46 diesel, my car used to get up to temp and then cool once on the motorway. I self- diagnosed this as a faulty thermostat and had it replaced. The car now stays at temp once its on the motorway. However, i have noticed that when i stop accelarating or going down hills or...

As always thanks for the expert insight and guidance .. I'm the original owner of this noted 2002 325ci. Only 31k miles. I ordered it back then with the available "Sport Package" option. For the lifespan of the car I've lived in a high-rise with an outdoor lot that is located about 200ft from...

Hello, I've got a 01 330xi (M54) that is running hot. I have an OBDII Scanner and OBD Fusion application. I just installed a brand new radiator and Upper and Lower hoses (Gates) and have probably used 10 gallons of antifreeze trying to keep it cooled down enough so I don't ruin the engine...

Hi again, Sorry for the weird title. Please see the attached pictures to know what I am talking about (FYI, the fasteners and hoses are on the drivers side of the expansion tank). The white plastic fasteners seen on the pictures (Red circles) were dangling around loosely. On the pictures I...

First off, I have SCOURED Google and these forums for an answer, so sorry in advance if I missed it. Anyways, I have a 2000 323i and long story short, it overheated due to the idler pulley breaking, so now I'm replacing the expansion tank. When I went to pull out the old atf thermostat...

Coolant level question for new-to-me 323ci Hey guys, just got my first E46 and am totally stoked about it. It’s a beautiful 2000 323ci w/ 176k miles. I recently checked the coolant level and the red float stick was all the way down (not floating at all/won’t move if you push down on it...
