Car: 2003 330i Manual facelift Issue: Random brake rubbing after 10 minutes of driving. Rubbing occurs front right side wheel. Disc is rubbing on pad. Also it appears that both left side discs/pads don't engage/disengage fully. Car does pull to the left a bit. History: had ABS pressure sensor...

As the title says, should I be rebuilding the calipers as part of regular maintenance if there is no signs of sticking or leaking? This is for a track duty m3 that sees 3-4 track days a year. They have never been rebuilt in the 11 years I have owned it. Any insight would be appreciated, thanks.

This past week I was upgrading my brake pads and after putting everything back together, I went out for a drive and a few miles in I started to hear this terrible rattling that turns out to be due to my caliper guide pins backing themselves out a few threads. I've replaced the pins themselves as...

Sticking Brake Calipers & Bent Rim / In Neutral, do Driveshaft vibrations diminish? Greetings, Trying to distinguish between front end issues vs possible driveshaft issues after reinstalling DS with new guibo & CSB. (It could be multiple problems of course, and yes car was vibrating before I...

Hey Fellas, after procrastinating for a long long time I am finally making a thread here. Got my hands on me wagon last December and love the damn thing. I also own an e46 M3 and I know this will be blasphemous to some, but I have more fun in my wagon :woot: Wagon been solid apart from a few...

There seems to have been lots of talk over the years about how the 135i Brembo calipers sort of fit the e46. Unfortunately running a 135i Brembo on an E46 results in the front pad hanging off of the back of the rotor by a few mm's. Excuse my terrible junkyard pads used for test fitting but here...

I am rebuilding my calipers and the attached image is of one of the pistons. Overall it is in great shape except for the edge near the end of the dust boot. I expect that since it's near the outer edge it should be fine but looking for some confirmation from the forum. I really don't want to...

I have a 2003 325xi and the right front brake is sticking. The car always pulls right and when I brake it always pulls me to the left. The wheel is very hot after driving only on the right, so I know it's sticking. Today, I just took off the caliper and checked everything out. The brakes where...

This post is intended for reference should anyone else experience the same failure/ issues. Today I was on my way to work. I spent about 10 minutes on the highway with no issues. Then I got off to get some coffee and had to stop at a light. When I pulled away the car felt a little heavy and...

Hi, Im new to the forums, so if im posting in the wrong place, sorry. Feel free to move my post if necessary. I recently purchased a 318i (1999) which has a siezed front left brake. (I knew this before I purchased the car and got a few Euros knocked off the asking price). I took the brake...

I recently put some brake pad grease on my pads to prevent some squeaking. The pads and rotors are both relatively new, and don't need replacing. Now I am noticing a knocking/clicking sound coming from my front right wheel. At first it sounded like a rock stuck in my tire, then almost like a...

Hi all, Today while driving home, my car was acting unhappy. The steering wheel was shaking proportional to speed. Annoyed by this, I went under the car when I got home. What I found was that the left front wheel was considerably hotter than the right. Moreover, when I put the front in the...

Hey guys, quick question, want your thoughts. I have a vibration and wobble (wobwobwobwob) in the right rear that starts at 35 mph, gets pretty bad at 40 (real bad if I bring it up to 45 and then coast it back down to 35), increases in pitch as you get faster, taken it up to 70+ and it never...

So, my calipers are stock... which means they are the color of RUST!! I want to clean and paint them, but a little unsure about color. I kinda want them silver, but every keeps telling me to paint them blue (BMW roundel color). I think it would look a little Ric3r.:hmm: (Also, my rims are...

First of all, I know this has been addressed elsewhere, but not of the resolutions/thoughts seem to match my issue...sorry for the new thread! Background: I bought my 04 330Ci a few months ago and soon after noticed a "chirping" coming from the front left wheel. When i jacked it up, I noticed...

I have a 2002 330i sedan. I recently put on Beyern Mesh 255/35/18's on rear (9.5), and 225/40/18's on front (8.5). The offset on rears is 45. I noticed when I mounted them that the clearance between the inside of the rear wheel and the brake caliper is REALLY close. Like a sheet of paper...

I replaced the black rubber bushings for the guide pins on my rear calipers. Does anyone know if I am supposed to lube the inside and outside of these bushings or if I should put an adhesive on the outside so that it sticks to the caliper and then lube the inside where the guide pin goes?
