      My car isn't starting for some reason. If I want to bypass the clutch switch and try to diagnose any other problems should I be using BMW Scanner 1.4 or BMW Standard Tools? And will this cable work? Or do I need this one?

      Why Update?
      I recommend every car be updated to the latest. There are three main benefits.
      1. Bug fixes: there are many bugs in various DME families that have been revealed over the years, including the 2800 RPM stutter in MS45.1, inability to get O2 emissions monitors to pass in MS42, transmission shifting maps in GS20, etc.; if you look at the software version history, some have over 20 revisions!
      2. More responsive: the throttle, timing, fuel control, and shifting maps have all been improved over time to make it feel more responsive, everyone notices their car feels quicker and less sluggish after an update
      3. Smoother: the overall driving experience feels more refined and smoother, transitions over the acceleration bands and shift points are less jerky
      Which BMWs?
      • BMW models: E39, E46, E53, E83
      • DME: MS42, MS43, MS45.1, MSS54
      • EGS: GS20, GS8.60.0, GS8.60.4, SMG2
      What You Need
      1. Windows 7, 8, or 10 laptop (32-bit or 64-bit), must have AC adapter plugged in
      2. K+DCAN cable with a switch, for example: Amazon.com: K+DCAN Cable with Switch
      3. Installed software from this guide: How to Install BMW Standard Tools
      4. Chrome Remote Desktop set up, instructions: How to Install Chrome Remote Desktop
      5. Fast Internet (minimum 10mb up/down) and good phone connection at the car
      6. Good fully charged battery with at least 12.6V, charger/maintainer not recommended
      How to Install the Software
      If you already have INPA and WinKFP working, we can try using that. But most times they aren't set up correctly and I have to install my own files. I'm happy to install and configure the software for you. It takes like 10 minutes.

      The following links list version histories for each module. The history is a daisy-chain from top going down.       Hey everyone im relatively new here but im having an issue that is mind boggling, I have a 2004 BMW E46 M3 and i tried to flash a tune to the ECU and now the car wont start, it cranks and cranks and wont start, and on the cluster the temp gauge is all the way hot, if could get in contact with you Bali that would be great and a huge help.

      Hey champion are you able to to help update my egs in my 01 330i e46 I’m in AUS.
      Looking to just do the egs as I have a remapped dg maps dme.
      Also got quite a few mods.
      but I feel the egs is not up to par. Also getting the cog of death from time to time and have to clear the codes to get out of limp mode.
      Any help would be so greatly appreciated.

      How do I go about contacting you? I will gladly pay for your services when it comes time. I’m about to swap a 330i engine into my 325ci. Both cars are 2002 ms43. The 325ci is a manual and the 330i is an automatic. I am very mechanically inclined and will have very little issue doing the swap. The flaw I have is In coding or changing anything tuning. Once I perform the swap I would like to be able to have my DME updated to US spec 330 manual transmission software. Is this possible? And is there anything else I may need to know?

      Do you offer remote Update/flashing for bmw E60 models. I have a 2004 bmw 530i and I swapped the EGS form a 2005 BMW 530i. I am new to this coding stuff and I do not want to mess up the car.. I downloaded Mike's BmwEasyTools too. However, I do not know which ECU family and which latest update I should continue with. If you can help me, I greately appreciate it.

      Having issues with TunerPro ADX logging.
      I have used many devices on tuner pro before (mostly Moates gear) and never had issues with connecting.

      I have even switched my cable and friends BimmerGeeks cable to different ports and changed my com port in the settings to match and it just keeps sayin "DA Connecting" and never connects nor shows any data in the gauge or histograms.

      I have followed the MS4X wiki and watched Nuisance_Carl's youtube video on it. Bought the same cable he recommend sin his video and have tried the Kline switch in both directions.

      Kinda a weird suggestion, but have you tried uninstalling the software and reinstalling? A few days ago my tunerpro started acting up for no reason, and it wouldn’t let me edit tables after using the compare bin function (yes different issue but hear me out). I ended up having to uninstall the program and update to the newest version of tunerpro to get the program working properly again. You should also try logging with romraider to see if that works

      Check if pins 7 and 8 are still connected using a multimeter.

      In post #1 of my software install thread, I always recommend people buy a K+DCAN cable with built-in switch to easily use on older and newer BMWs.

      I have never tried the older K-Line cable (with pin 8 disconnected) on newer generation BMWs such as E9x, but I would expect it to work fine.
