Using a multimeter in series with the ground, don’t have the money for a high resolution clamp
Just a word of caution if ur using a multimeter that’s fused. Make sure u have plenty of spare fuses close at hand. I made several bone head mistakes while having the meter in series, like putting the key in the ignition and rolling down windows :) —> Car pulls over 10A = fuse blown and no way to measure current
I went for a DC amp clamp - not high dollar: https://www.amazon.com/Clamp-Multimeter-Meter-Temperature-Capacitance/dp/B0831J2563

Not sure how well this will work, mine just showed up.

I just gave this a quick try using the DC amp clamp fcn on the ground cable at the battery.
It read ~1.4a with trunk lid up, trunk lights on. Almost 4a with door open and interior lights on.
It is raining here, so not the time to let it go to sleep w/ trunk and door open, but so far I think I will like having this capability.
