I was just checking this site out and I was reading this,

Do you guys think we can acutally build our own? I mean find the same parts

that AA ,ESS . VFE DA are using and just build our own?

Way way cheaper I bet

That article was full of BS and mistruths. :tsk:

Anyway, the biggest hurdle with turbos is the ECU. :search: the forum for 'turbo' it's been discussed multiple times.
another opinion for you....... russ330 is right......

when i had it going how did you control the timing??? it would really start doing a popping noise like misfire...i was only running 5 psi ...my tech in sac said that the ecu was still advancing the timing even though the asatronic would cut the voltage so that the ecu would not see boost...fuel wasnt a problem but i could never get a clean run because of that main problem...i could drive it around town with no problems..it was just when i got on it...above 4k

no matter how many times i reiterate this, people dont believe me. 7k is a steal for that kit- all the piping fits- everything is perfect. Everything works together, a tune for one kit will not necessarily respond the same to another setup. If I were you, I'd run the kit. Oh, wait I'm myself and I run the kit.

Most of forced induction success lies in the tuning. You can have the best parts out there but without the right management it's going to run like **** and make you wish you never wasted a couple thousand and countless hours of work. If you find a way of tuning it, I say go for it.. there's always going to be a markup on pre-made kits. The best advice I can give you is that if you really want more power to buy a project car like a Fox Body, gut it, and throw some NA goodies, spray, and slicks. You will save time, money, frustration, and still have a pristine bimmer for a DD.

PS- Racing Dynamics that car is ridiculous.
