you probably already know, your keyless entry (fob) signal is picked up through that module. 315 mhz. It appears to be the correct antenna amp for your car, however I guess your trying to figure out if it failed.

I replaced the head unit in the 2000 car and had very poor reception in the new after market unit. I read through many of the threads here and on other forums. I discovered, after 2001 BMW changed the diversity antenna and removed a connection.
Top Antenna amplifier, in the photo, appears to be the same as yours.

Similarly, I cleaned all the contacts and went so far as to put DeOxIt on most electrical contacts. Here's a Blog explaining the process. While cleaning the contacts (with the radio on), the reception improved when tightening the torq hold down bolts. So I DeOxit the torq bolts. The reception improved a minor amount.

I purchased an used post '02 antenna amplifier on Ebay. The improvement could be categorized as psychosomatic.

However, I think your question was, "where do I find one";

ESCTuning or

EBay Don't buy a 433 mhz, might be locked out of your car.

If your car has tinted windows, many of the tint films are metalized and can impact radio reception performance.

These films can also cause reduced or problematic cell phone or GPS performance in the car as well.

am/fm radio antenna module help poor reception

I recently upgraded my 2001 to a 2003 head unit so that I would have Aux In. In the process I had to replace the antenna amp and use some antenna adapters. Previously I also had poor reception and when using the skip button on AM it would simply cycle through the entire dial non-stop. I also had cleaned all contacts on the window, antenna cable, and antenna amplifier with no success. After the upgrade I can now receive AM so I think my amplifier wasn't working too well.

I found a guy parting out a 2003 on Craigslist and got my amplifier there for $20.

I've got the same poor reception problem on my 03 325i. Very interested to learn the fix. I too have cleaned the connections at the amplifier, but it didn't help.

Found my problem. It was bad connections but not the connectors. In my case it was bad contact on the mounting bolts. Apparently, they provide grounding.

I think, I said that. Perhaps, not clearly. I de-oxed the mounting bolts, as well.

Good stuff, Lococan... Let me see if I'm understanding so I can get my 2000 model with aftermarket radio working.

You're saying that with the new head unit, there was no way to get power to that extra connector on the earlier model, so you got the 2002+ diversity amp which receives power up the antenna cable as opposed to via that separate connection on the 99-01? And that worked and fixed it?

As background, I've used an aftermarket head unit for 10 years now. Back then, all this information wasn't out there, so I didn't know why my reception was so bad. So I installed one of those old VW-style 15" whip antennas in the "bee stinger" hole. It's worked fine until the other day when the base unit basically disintegrated and fell apart. Rather than find another one and take the headliner down to re-install, I'd rather just make the in-glass one work.

BTW, I do know that my blue wire in the harness is connected to the blue/white wire, so I think that part of it is powered.

Also, if it helps any, my FM with the factory antenna now is actually okay. Not as good as before, I don't think, but pretty good. I'm getting some stations 50 miles away. But AM is absolutely non-existent. Even very strong stations aren't coming in at all.
