Hi! I am New trying to learn from this forum. So I want to ask few questions before trying. Dont want to brick my ecu. I would like to try launch control. My ecu is Ms43 Mb54b25 engine. First I should make a full read.. I am using chipster MSS5x Flasher.. Then I should open the bin in tuner pro rt and load MS430056 ecu defs... There are the launch control maps which i should edit. Then I should made a full write again chipster MSS5x Flasher and It is ready to use.. This is my ecu..

Nice to know: I set up the last three positions in the FL map at 126 (b30 intake cam), the power is nice and maf values are being reached from the second to fourth gear (560-580 kg/h). Car pulls quite strong ip there. Peak power seems to be around 6500 rpm while it drops a few bits at 7000 rpm

If you measure the power output with those settings ,and then go back to stock ,you will find that our arse are unable to feel the difference above 4k. Any "dyno" accelleration app / device can do that.

My Ride: E46 328 B30 Swap
Year: 1999
Model: 328
Transmission: Manual
reporting something:

mey project car was born 328 with MS42.
After internals swap to 3.0 and shrink cams 252/244, B25 intake, my best maf report was 760kg/h (with little maf, not the B30)

so, now i swap the ECU to MS43 with B30 intake and tbi.
with little maf i was read 650 kg/h (i edit the MAF Table from 325)

now i install B30 maf and read 720 kg/h (restore the MAF Table to 330)

the power have no changed, just this reads from log

This evening I tried to make launch control to my ms43. Following the steps from wiki. I downloaded the logger for my engine load it in tuner pro also load the xdf. Made the following tables. Made full write with ms4x Flasher. The car started with the new verison but LC DOESNT work I think I am doing everyting as it is writen. Is there something more to do?

I'm having an issue ***x1f615; I have a e46 325i on MS43 and was on MS430037, but after attempting to update to MS430069 (with Launch control), it is cranking but not starting.

Before I started, I read the full 512kb with MS4X Dev Group Flasher while it was NOT in boot mode (is this a good original image then?).
So after MS430069 wasn't working, I flashed the original read back to the DME while in boot mode us JMGarage Flasher but it is still cranking without starting. I read the errors using INPA and I kept seeing an EWS-code error. I tried modifying my original image and setting ISN to all FF's but that also didn't work (I read it back and it stayed all FF's, I was under the impression that DME would automatically sync the DME with EWS when it was all FF's). I also tried clearing the error codes via INPA to see if that would do anything - nope.

What should I do? I'd love to get the car back to running - preferably on MS430069 - but at this point I'm just hoping to get it to run without needing to take it to the dealer.

Update: Still not working. I tried, to the best of my understanding, to do what @sda2 mentioned in some of his posts:

1. I downloaded a clean MS430069 from MS4x.net.
2. Updated the UIF Vehicle Identification Number to my VIN from my original read
3. While in boot mode, I flashed the bin using JMGarage Flasher to the DME (MS4X Dev Group Flasher doesn't seem to work for me. It won't connect while in boot mode but JMGarage Flasher does).
4. After writing and while still in boot mode, I tried to open INPA and it couldn't connect.
5. I turned the car key off, and then back to position 2.
6. While not in boot mode, I connected via INPA and attempted to "EWS start value synch." I received messages several messages including "in der dme ist bereits ein startwert gespeichert".
7. I also tried to clear all error messages via INPA.
8. Put the DME fully back into the car (plugged in the rest of the connectors).
9. Attempted to start the car, cranks but doesn't start. Let it crank for a while, too.

I can get try again this evening and get all error codes along with the full 512KB file.

Any ideas on what are my next steps?

Edit: I was able to get the car to start using MS430056_Logger_EWSsignature_CHK5off_LC.bin from ms4x.net. I'd still like to know what I was doing wrong though.

@re1220 you have to do a manually sync of the EWS with INPA (if possible) or TOOL32, Rheingold!! In MS43 is nothing automatic about EWS.

If it not works, make a complete EWS-delete. I know, is the hard way, but should work everytime.

Ah, thanks! The EWS Sync via INPA (or the other apps), should that be done in boot mode right after flashing or after turning off car and back on (not in boot mode)?

Without Bootmode. Everything have to be normal!! Best without errors in the ECU, if possible.

I have 2 ms43 bmw 3.0 x5. However one has a firmware version of 56 and the other is 66. Both have different throttle sensitivities and camshaft delay. Should i copy the camshaft delay to other. One is at like 600 delay while other is 200
