X5 Suggestions

I know the X5 isn't an e46, but I figured this is the place to ask.

My mom's gonna be getting a used X5.

Any suggestions as to what we should be getting in terms of accessories and/or packaging?

I think I heard that the sports package comes with clears all around so that will probably be a definate choice (unless we get premium? what does that include?).

tell her she needs to get a 4.4

i would rather have a no-optioned 4.4 than a fully loaded 3.0

but if you get options, i would say the premium package is the most important

my mom has one and she loves it, i love to drive it too haha

The 3.0 runs fine, good for long hauls and around town. The 3.0 also has plenty of pickup. The 4.4 is nice and powerful but very thirsty and expensive from the start. If you want the 4.4 get a 540i IMHO.

Yeah your mother probably won't be racing anybody so the 3.0 should be fine. The 4.4 just wastes too much gas and really isn't worth it. (Trust me, I know, we have one)

haha I have a 4.4i sport 100% options Sport, Premium, Privacy, Nav, prem sound, xenon, heated steering wheel, Everything. I bought a 2000 with 25k miles on it. Ok the truck is AWESOME when it works. Do not get it if you live really far away from a dealership or if your dealership doesn't give loaners. YOU WILL go in for some sort of problem with it. It is inevitble. My mom is 5'6 and works out and ****, and the steering wheel she complains is too heavy for her. The 19's with 255-45-19 tires in the front are bit hard to turn for a smaller woman. Also my father has a 740il and he cant stand being in my car since he says its very bumpy. The clears however are expensive $600-800! and you must remove the whole headlight to put them on. PM for more details.

I have a X5 3.0 and a 540. The X5 suits my mom pretty well. The only thing she doesnt have is the sports package. If I were your mom, Id tell her to get the sports package because the stock clears make a world of difference. Premium as well would be good.
