Nice. You should put a kit together that includes the pattern and instructions. It would sale like hotcakes.

^ nice, you should think about getting one off of ebay, re-wrapping it, and doing a swap-out service for people. Send them the re-wrap, refund a portion of your fee when you receive their old one, then do it again, and again, and again...

Great job! you think it's possible to wrap it with the steering wheel still on the car? I want to try it but don't feel like taking it off the car.

Couple questions for you:

1. Was there a reason you didn't just remove the old fabric and use that for the pattern?
2. The fabric glue you used... is it meant to only hold the fabric in place long enough to start stitching the fabric around the wheel, or is it permanent? (I ask in case I do this, screw up, and want to remove my attempt and start over)

Great work! and the practice on several steering wheels has definitely paid off for you! :thumbsup

at the time i had a good alcantara wheel and just wanted to change the color(and didnt want to screw up a good wheel)the main deal was to try to figure out the pattern and how to do the stitching etc.
as far as the glue it is permanent and meant to hold/smooth out problem areas

Great job, truly impressive.

I am considering doing this and have a couple of questions I hope you can help me sort out.

1. Instead of using glue, do you think double sided tape would work? This would make it less permanent.
2. Can you provide a closer shot of the tri-stitching? I want to see if the stitching is the same as it's done in this thread (I also posted an example on post #30, but i don't think that's the same kind of stitch you're using for the steering wheel).

Thanks! Appreciate your posting this DIY!
