FS: E46 M3 Jet-Hot Ceramic Coated SMURFM Headers - NEW

SOLD!

Price: $380 OBO Shipped

Selling a brand new, unused pair of ceramic coated SMURFM headers for the E46 M3. These were never used, only mounted for a test fit by the previous owner. They are in excellent condition, with just a few scratches from the installation. He also had them shipped out to Jet-Hot for ceramic coating, which cost over $250. Jet-Hot is superior to typical ceramic coating, as they use a special dipping process that also coats the inside surface of the headers. The coating on these is far nicer than the coating on my SS V1 headers!

Fitment:

Apparently SMURF headers fit some people's cars fine after adjusting the heat shield a bit, while others need to have the two bungs on the shorter header repositioned (<$50 job at most exhaust shops). Most importantly, these headers should line up evenly along the head and slip onto the studs without any issues. You can read up on the modifications that SMURFM performed to make these fit properly in his Group Buy thread HERE.

*According to the previous owner who test fit these to his M3, the only issue is that the bungs on the short header were too close to the heat shield. This could be solved by hammering the heat shield out of the way, or welding the bungs in a different location.*

I've included shots comparing these to my SuperSprint V1 stepped headers to show the slight differences in O2 bung locations. These are also thick-flanged, so they will require using E36 header studs. And no, the V1's are not for sale!

Did these headers fit the Previous owners car they were test fitted to? or did the bungs have fitment problems?

According to the previous owner, the bungs were too close to the heat shield and would require either hammering in the heat shield or relocating the bungs.
