M54 Oil Pan Gasket Leaking.....

Looks like I need to change this guy. Anyone out there done this and have any lessons learned? I'm pretty much expecting this to be a PITA, but I'm always up for a challenge!

Very complicated repair. If you're serious about this you should buy a Bentley manual at the least. I glanced at the process in mine and and among other things it involves unbolting the engine from the frame and supporting it from above with a hoist. Not for the faint of heart. Best of luck.

If the leaking can be located, maybe a cheaper option is for an external fix using high temperature gasket sealant or gasket maker.
