Any prepared checklists for checking out E46 M3?

I may be looking at a low priced 2003 M3 this week at a dealer. Are there any resources for things to look for? I have two xi's, but I've not worked on m3's.

Use the NJ BMWCCA Tech Inspection checklist. Then add subframe mounts, VANOS, SMG pump and a test drive. Then do a Blackstone oil test. Compression test is your call.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to try my best to arrange a pre purchase inspection but I've never done that before. How does that work so that both buyer and seller are protected? Does the seller bring the car? Do you usually have to leave a deposit?

Seller drops the car. Prospective buyer pays. You should otherwise fully screen the car before the PPI to avoid spending money on some dog. Payment terms are between you and the shop performing the PPI.
