CD53 Replacement Volume Knob?

I recently replaced the cassette deck on my 2001 convertible with an Alpine CD53. It has a gross, gummy volume knob so I wanted to change it out for a new one. Should be a simple thing, right? Not so far.

First, I tried to steal the knob form the cassette player but the shape and post shape were wrong, so I decided to buy new.

I looked up the part number in RealOEM and it showed 65126923321 so I added it to my cart with a suspension parts order. The vendor (FCP Euro, not that it matters) showed the same part for my 325ci, even though I originally had a cassette deck. I also referenced it to newer models and FCP, ECS, etc. all showed the same number.

Upon arrival- no fit.

It is worth noting that the CD53 unit that I purchased (through classified listings on here) is extremely confusing. First off, the antenna connection does not match anything in any photo that I can find but I managed to cobble it together after ordering every known antenna adapter recommended in this subforum. In the end, despite posts telling me that I needed an adapter, the original connector (Fakra-style, like this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...A2X7IHOFTAZ9BA ) from the antenna cable would attach to the headunit, though the "male" side on the headunit was all metal and lacked the clip that would make the connection secure. I also did not need to swap out my antenna amplifier, as many posts in the forum noted.

All that said, I am looking to find the right knob. 65126907815 ( https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw-button-65126907815 ) seems to fit but https://www.google.com/search?q=6512...IqOApC3cxlcJM: is the only image that I can find and there is no application listing for that part number to use as a comparison.

Any thoughts?
