So how does one get the BMW Individual seats if you've already bought your car? I talked to my local dealer one day and he said he needed another person's VIN# who had the seats I wanted so he could order them for me?? Hmm...

It is called BMW Individual, a division run under the M division. Basically yes, for a price, you can entirely customize your car. It includes special paint options, interior options, and other mostly cosmetic options. It does take longer and you will pay a premium for these options. It's not a big option in America because dealers worry about you backing out of the purchase, leaving them with a hard-to-sell individualized BMW. In Europe, I believe you pay for the car before they even submit the order to the factory.

I've never heard on anyone in the US being able to do this.

You could always go with LeatherZ's extended leather package, but it doesn't look like that replace the dash's vinyl.

Strickly speaking, the Individual program is not available in the US. But if the dealership is willing to work with you and your money, they can always have an Individual car special ordered. I heard they just tell BMW NA that the car is for showroom

Oh and I'm drooling over those nice interior

If you bought it already, going to an aftermarket shop is cheaper than buying the parts from the dealer.

Man, those were some beautful interiors.

My best guess is you'd have to provide a VIN# to order Individual parts from any dealership. Or if you can get the part numbers of the parts you want, just ask at the parts counter of any dealer and see what they say. Or, if you have contacts in Europe, especially in Germany, I believe they can buy Individual parts from their local dealerships

We have this in Canada with all the BMW models. I think its like a $4000 USD option though. Seen it on couple M3s and its very classy.
