Thinking of buying an E46

Hey guys! I got an opportunity to purchase a 2005 330ci with 85K miles kept in pretty good condition with 1 previous owner. Was originally $5K, however was able to talk down to $4.5K. Was wondering if that's a fair price?

Fair price but with the age you need to consider cooling system refresh if not done already for sure

Before you pull the trigger have the car undergo a pre-purchase inspection performed by a reputable indie shop that specializes in bimmers. Try www.bimrs.org. All used cars have issues. The inspection will most likely reveal those issues. Have the shop list the issues and how much itíll cost to fix each issue. Use that info when bargaining over the price.

Does the car have any maintenance records? Have the valve cover and oil filter housing gasket been changed?

As long as there are no sub-frame cracks or overheating issues most here would say go for it.

I love my E46. As long as you can do most of the work yourself itís a fairly cheap car to own. Plus itís always a sporty and luxurious ride.
