Does this count as sportbike?

1992 Yamaha FZR 1000 EXUP. Somebody stole it, made some "minor" modifications to it, was returned to the owner who wanted to swap it for 250cm3 motocross bike. Well I had this Kawasaki 250 in my carage:

Swapped without exchanging money. So we call my bike Yamasaki. Looks...well...different, but got plenty of power (European model has 146hp) and rides well and fast. Nowadays got original silencer, the one in the pic made me almost deaf.

My cousin just bought one of those, same year too I think. What an awful contraption.... it's just so far leaned over. The brakes have the 'double pump' that plagues so many Ducatis. It's fast as hell but definitely catered toward the track.

Look at that subtle jet-black coloring. The tasteful thickness of it. Oh my God, it even has a 6mt.

What ďdouble pumpĒ? Iíve been riding and tracking/racing Ducatiís for years and I havenít the faintest clue what youíre referring to. Also, itís a track focused bike; anybody who buys one should know that. Calling it an awful contraption because of its focus is like calling a Porsche GT3 an awful contraption because itís not a fitting daily driver for most people (...nor is that the intent/focus).

Many Ducatis I've seen in recent years has uneven brake position. For example when you pull the lever the first time the lever goes 30mm from the bars. Then if you pull it again within a second, it goes 40mm from the bars. Granted this is a Brembo M42? problem, not a Ducati problem. I don't think the 1199/1299 has this, but the mid range models do.

I think there are more comfortable sport bikes out there that can still go fast. The 899 is just at the extreme of ergonomics for no real reason, IMO.

Well I had an aftermarket Brembo MC on my track prepped 848, and I think my V4 has a 17mm or 19mm MC, but I would need to check for sure. I think the ABS requires the 17mm or 19mm. I donít recall having any issues with the OEM 848 MC, but I upgraded calipers so I chose to do the aftermarket MC as well to change the feel of the brakes and allow for easier two-finger braking.

As for ergos, I suppose it depends on your body type. I never had a problem with Ducati superbike ergos. I suppose everybodyís mileage may vary.

Yeah I broke my back and can't ride sport bikes without being in pain, so that's entirely my opinion lol. The brake thing is weird for sure.

Mountain biking! Way more dangerous than motorcycles. Flew over the bars and cracked a vertebra

Last time I was at COTA I got hooked up with an F3 car for a lap, but I really want to ride the track on a bike.
