Dash Cluster lights replacement?

Can the instrument lights in the dash cluster be replaced? The coolant temp gauge light has gone out. Very dark in that corner. Can not find any information on the replacement of the led's that do the collant gauge.

Hi! If it's just the LED, yes if you are handy with a soldering iron - they are small, but a steady hand and some Amazon LEDs, and it's perfectly doable.

I've tried this a couple of times over the years, and not had any success (nothing wrong with the soldering jobs or replacement LEDs). It's never actually been the LEDs that have failed. The traces tend to lift off the PCB or some other failure has occurred every time I've tried to make a repair.

Some things I've picked up along the way: The shop I've used (https://dnaspeedometers.com/) hasn't been able to fix light issues when I take them just the cluster - They've needed the car with it (I'm local to them, so it's not a problem for me). Something about the lights not being checked on their test gear, so they don't have a good way to check it without the car. On the positive side, if you take them a cluster (and car), they check and repair it _all_ if they find any other issues along the way...

You may want to see if there is a speedometer repair shop local to you - it wasn't all that expensive to have done by a professional - under $200 each time I've had one repaired.

You could always 'piggyback' using some very thin wire to one of the working LEDs (on a new LED), but that isn't a 'correct' repair, and didn't sit right with me...

Hope this helps!

Jumping onto this thread to see if anyone has a part number or other spec numbers for the dashboard LEDs, in the original amber color. I have the exact same problem as OP, with the temp gauge going dark. Thanks in advance!
