Thanks for the input!

For additional info, engine is on stock maf right now.
We've looked through the idle data for NA and FI and on idle:
NA Maf 14kg/h
FI Maf 50kg/h
NA Load ±100
NA Load ±300

I've put a 0.5kohm resistor and will look at Load and Maf indications later in the day

OK,

My isa has failed and I have just setup the ISAless tune. I have MS42.

Is the new throttle map to stop the engine from stalling when engine braking/transition to a stop?
I am having that problem but I have not changed the throttle map yet.

What throttle position do others have for a steady idle? Mine is around 3.5% (M52TU25B)

Yes the throttle map will have to be adjusted on MS43 atleast. The ecu pulls values from the throttle map on how much to open the throttle for a given isa duty cycle.
But if you modify the ip_pvs_isa_isapwm__isapwm table instead you should be able to use whatever throttle map you want. I explained the tables function here Post 127

My M54B30 idles around 2.9~3.0
My latest ISALess values can be found here Post 159

I have adjusted the throttle map and it has made no difference for me(MS42) just tried it today.

After reading through your posts, ip_isapwm_pvs__pvs__n is what I changed before to get the throttle map to behave with a close to linear throttle curve and give better rpm drop..

I have altered the PID maps and ip_isapwm__tco for a smooth idle.

When I experimentet on my car I found that lowering the ip_isapwm_pvs__pvs__n table in the idlespeed region would have a negative effect on the idle logic if the ISA valve was removed.

My tips would be to start over with everything ISA related set back to stock and then applying the ISALess changes to see if that makes a difference.

But I also believe there is something more that needs to be changed before the current ISALess method is working correctly but I haven't had the time to research it.

I had same issue on ms43 when car would stall in between the transition to a stop. It just happened to me once I fixed my vacuum leak))) So i guess unplanned vacuum leak will fix it ( or more air through throttle)

Anyone willing to test ISAoff with automatic gearbox? We made some nice progress and think we found the problem. Car should be in stock condition, not boosted.

Here i have a automatic, but its a 528iA. I'm from near Karlsruhe, where are you Daniel?

Is there a plate for isa/disa off on the m54b30 manifold?

I´m not shure if its working on M52tuB engines.

HI,

I'm wondering that nobody asked this before but if i only remove the electrical connection to the ISA will it stay shut?

Can somebody verify that with a removed valve pls

thx

Nope, either force it to be closed by changing maps, seal the isa with silicone or hot glue or remove the whole isa and plug it.

Is it easy to do by changing maps along with the current ISAless tune on the wiki? I haven't seen any info on that.

If you are removing ISAless , i would suggest not to glue , but to buy 1 inch and 3/4 gas pipe plug and cut grooves with the grinder in it a little bit so it acts as a tap when you thread it into the plastic so it would hold and stay. Because I plugged mine with rubber and also jb welded it around , and recently rubber deteriorated and made a hole so I had huge vacuum leak.

The valve will sit at 50% open with no power.

1 coil opens it past 50%, the other coil closes it below 50%.

that is what wanted to know..

Then i also don't trust any software close mods... If sth mechanical fails in the ISA i'm ed bcouse it will defently happen when i have no tools with me... (murphy's law u know...)

Still i'm going the way of the least work and i will just insert a rifled aluminium rod or sth into the tube before the valve. Hoseclamp on it - ready to roll

I designed a plug to easier removing of the ISA/ICV. If anyone has a 3d printer which is capable of printing ABS filament, you can use this plug to seal the hole in the intake
