Does the N52 have clogged/cracked CCV issues like M54 ?

Is that OEM? Can you post more X5 pics? Looks good!

I noticed the A-pillar fabric on my X3 is perfect.
Unlike my E46, but it might be the age difference.
Either way, it's nice to see perfect A-pillars!

20" style 87's with Conti 315's pushed out to the edge of the flares with 25mm H&R DRA spacers. Front flares are currently being shipped, another Black Friday purchase. (Don't ask what they cost)

More pictures of the X if you click on the X5 link in my signature

Scubbing Bubbles and Aerospace 303 FTW!

BTW, Xoutpost is a good source for your E83 LCI. It is a ghost town compared the E46F but I have learned a lot over there about my X

Xoutpost seems only active for X5. X3 sub is dead.

Yeah even the E53 sub is limited to about 50 solid members posting regularly. But the knowledge I gain over there for my X5 is priceless.

Does the e53 shares the same engine n52?
If so, there can be good crossover info about engine stuff.

I thought it required reading the titles of thread topics

Do you only own one car? Some of us own 5 cars.. I would like to find e46 owners who also own the e83. I also could have discussed e83 with other owners before making the leap.

It does not. E70 did get the n52

Just bought a 2010 X3 with 100k miles.

Here is the service history as a data point of what things were needed for the first 100k.
I think the X3 did really well, and needed very little.

Seller took a hit on depreciation ($30k down to $8k)
For repairs, seller spent $3500 in 7 years, which included $750 for tires.

I am expecting to spend more on maintenance, but less in depreciation.
These cars bottom out at $4k
  • Brake Fluid Flush
  • 4 New Tires
  • Alignment
  • Transfer Case Fluid
  • Front and Rear Diff Fluid
  • 6 Spark Plugs
  • Oil Cooler Gasket
  • Oil Stand Gasket (OFHG?)
  • L/F Differential Output Seal
  • 6 Coil Packs
  • 1 Spark Plug (#1)
  • Recall: Driver's Front Airbag
  • Recall: PCV Valve Heater"
  • Oil Cooler Gasket
  • Oil Stand Gasket (OFHG?)
  • Belt tensioner
  • Belt
  • Idler Pulley
  • 2 Front Struts
  • Battery Registered to Car

Hi,

I own a 2006 X3 and we just picked up 2017. We have owned the 2006 for 3 1/2 years and put on about 40,000 miles. Since we live in the snow belt both rear springs have broken for a second time and need to be replaced.
The parts sitting on the shelf but I have not had the time to do the work. I replaced both rear speakers and right rear window regulator this summer. In 2018 I replaced the alternator, belts, and throttle body air boot. Looks like it will need brakes in the next 6 months and I seem to still have a charging issue. My guess is a bad grounding strap somewhere.
