random 2014 fantasy football draft thread

put all your questions related to the 2014 draft in here
since they won't be threadworthy by themselves

i'm in a keeper league
wondering if reggie wayne deserves a spot as a 4th round draft pick as my keeper
my other keeper is randall cobb at 8th round
and trying to figure out my 3rd keeper

this is how my 2013 team ended up ... terrible
my first round pick was arian foster ... had to drop him because of his back injury
i actually lost half of my draft picks midseason due to season ending injuries

hmm a lot of views but no replies

i've decided i'm not going to make reggie wayne as a 4th round keeper
just keeping randall cobb at 8th and kendall wright at 13th
and trying to figure out 3rd
anyone without original draft pick noted was taken off the waiver wire and will become a 14th round pick

so lonely in this subforum

who to start in week 2?
PPR league
I have Calvin Johnson and Randall Cobb as my 2 WR's
and for W/R/T ...
Reggie Wayne (Ind Colts) or Andrew Hawkins (Cleveland Browns)?

Good ol' Reggie Wayne racked up 9 receptions in week 1
Andrew Hawkins was no slacker with 8 receptions himself ... plus cleveland is really hurting right now
their #1 receiver is gone for the season (josh gordon) and their TE Cameron is out with injury
so Hawkins is the clear go-to

Wayne is playing against Eagles def
Hawkins is playing against Saints def

There's definitely an argument to be made for Hawkins. Though, both Indy and CLE will likely be playing from behind, so I'd expect a lot of passing in each game.

Given that it seems like a toss-up, I'd lean Wayne based on his track record and the fact Indy has the better QB.

For me, how about...

Cutler (@SF) or Luck (vs. Philly)? I'm leaning Luck based on SF's defense, but Cutler clearly has better weapons around him, imo.

But alshon jeffery and brandon Marshall are both banged up
While the Colts look all healthy
I would play luck over cutler

I have cutler as well
And because of the injuries, I am playing Jake locker this week

Pick one:

R. Bush (banged up a little), D. Hopkins (@OAK), T. Richardson (vs Philly)

Ppr or no?
I like hopkins

I would not start Richardson until he starts producing
I like r.bush but he can miss out on TD opportunities
I would lean toward hopkins
He is doing well

Actually I am not going to play andrew Hawkins ... browns are missing Ben tate and the backup RB's are decent but unproven
And without their other receiving threats, I think Hawkins will be well covered

Now... Reggie Wayne or Kendall wright? PPR
I am torn about this one

Yeah, tough call. Ppl seem to be all up on Tenn's nuts this week.

Found this note on Wayne:

"The matchup against the Eagles this week isn't as strong as it seems as he'll kick into the slot in all three-wide formations. That's where the Eagles' best corner, Brandon Boykin, roams."

Dallas didn't look as bad as I had expected last week, but their secondary seems weak af. Is this a different league from your earlier question - Reggie Wayne (Ind Colts) or Andrew Hawkins (Cleveland Browns)? If so, I'd start Wayne in that one and Wright in this other one.

If it's the same league, I'd go Wayne. Dude's an all pro and will get a ton of looks.

here's my roster
same league
i'm leaning toward kendall wright ... but i have until sunday to make my final decision

forsett over richardson at this point
i don't know what's wrong with richardson
he just can't perform
btw, forsett isn't like DE FACTO #1 ... looks like bernard pierce and justin forsett will keep sharing and it's like whoever is hot gets to keep going

i'm waiting on benny cunningham to take over the lead RB role from zac stacy
picked him up as my 14th round so investing in him as a keeper for next season
and not only that, i don't know if i can count on Frank Gore to deliver points because of carlos hyde
so i need a sleeper RB to come up

really sucks for me that Ben Tate got injured already .. i needed him to get me through a few weeks until Benny Cunningham came up

yeah I have Pitta in 2 leagues.

How about - DJax (vs. Jax) or R.Matthews (vs. SEA).

My Skins' offense looked abysmal last week, but R.Matthews is going against dat D.

oh man... the packers got crushed last week
how is SD chargers' O line?
if they can't post a threat through the air, there's no way ryan matthews is going to get anywhere on the ground

is this for your flex position?
i'd take a gamble with desean jackson

who are your main RB's?

Yeah, flex spot. S.D. didn't run the ball very well vs. AZ, but AZ has a good d line.

Starting; A. Morris & R. Jennings. I have A. Ellington, but wasn't sure about starting him given his foot injury.

Lol
I did everything wrong
Should have just not paid attention to any of the updates and kept Jay cutler in and played Reggie Wayne instead of Kendall wright
Could have had a chance
