Well I haven't had the sport seats long but we all know black seats are wayy out of place in a tan interior. I thought about just going the simple route and dyeing the black seats tan but where is the fun in that? Though tan interiors are damn sexy done the right way, it is time for a change. People have had good experiences with dyeing interiors so I'm going to give it a shot :)

Sourcing black interior parts: I have so many parts on order but these are the ones I found at the junkyard. Got them all for $150 total

black dash

ewww needs a good wash

Just little pieces here and there

I still need to find/order headliner pieces and some little black pieces here and there. Not in a rush though... This is my current interior, just put the wheel on the other day. omg

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/neil1138/4164918902/" title="M by Neil1138, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2738/4164918902_5f526a8001_b.jpg" width="1024" height="685" alt="M" /></a>

And yeah...

Some of you guys thought I would be doing imola red but apparently doing a color change to imola is near impossible to do. They explained to me how red dye isn't as strong of a dye as it used to be and how it would never turn out well because imola is just straight weak red dye, nothing else. But they said cinnamon would work because it was a potent dye with whites, yellows, reds and oranges in the dye. So I ordered 48 oz of cinnamon... this is gonna be tons of prep work, lol

I will be dyeing the front seats, rear seats and all of the door panels cinnamon. It will be done in the coming weeks so subscribe! Just wanted to shout out to Alec for helping me out with questions, I really appreciate your patience. This thread will be T3 death once I'm done, just sayin. I liek my pics

Cheers guys :hi:

EDIT: I didn't think I'd have to deal with this again but if you guys like this thread, rate it accordingly. Some people go around and just give my threads 1 star ratings for no reason and it's kinda lame. I know it's not a big deal but hey, threads like these don't come along often so if you want, a proper rating would be really cool :)

Not many pictures today, I got sidetracked but Drew really helped out by taking the headliner pieces out, thanks my friend! Did manage to find out that Duplicolor vinyl and fabric paint is absolutely legit, like no lie. This product gets an A+ from me. Tomorrow I will make up for lost time

put the dash in, not bolted in because I don't know if I might take it out for some reason.

Not much work done today but I am impressed by the quality done, more pictures tonight. I decided not to paint the speaker grill whilst on the door panel, I still need to separate it and paint it, you can sorta see the tan

What paint did you use on this and other plastic interior pieces? It matches the OEM rubberized coating very well.

Thank you very much for the help today sir, it really saved me a lot of time :hi:

quick question neil? how did you prep the plastic pieces
I sprayed them down with green works and scrubbed as much dirt off them as I could. I then wiped the pieces with a wet rag and sanded them with 600 grit sandpaper. Then a hot water bath to get rid of all the powder, followed then by lots and lots of light coats of the spray paint, waiting about 10 minutes between coats. I used duplicolor prep spray on one of the pieces but I wasn't impressed with the amount of residue that it left. I'm big on prep, probably why this project is taking me twice as long as I thought it would, oh well
