locked out of my boot/trunk

i took my battery out of my 318 to charge it. and absent mindedly closed it.
The problem is the key barrel is damaged and doesnt unlock it. the key just spins and does nothing.
Is there any way to get access from the back seat?
its a coupe.2002
If i can get the battery connected again i can open it with the key button.

There should be an earth post lower down from the positive post. There's no cover on it
