Nightmare NO AIRBAG

Hey E46 people,
I'm new to the BMW world and I happened to buy an '02 330i with an airbag light on. I researched it and assumed it was either a seat belt tensioner or the sensor mat in the passenger seat. Well, recently my window regulator broke and I discovered after taking the door panel off, that there is NO DRIVER's AIRBAG and the connector is broken. Thanks PO.
I went to a salvage yard and remembered you can't buy used airbags, and I know you can't ship them. So my question what are my options? Take it to the dealer (which I almost refuse to do), find a used airbag locally, 'trick' the SRS module with a resistor or something? I think I may have read you can code the light off, but part of me wants to not hack it up. Any input is appreciated.

Find someone parting a car either here or local. Maybe you can get a complete door from the junk yard. A 2 ohm resistor will trick the module into thinking the airbag is there but won't do anything to protect you in an accident so that is not your best option. Check www.realoem.com for compatibility been years, models and body styles.

Also make sure you don't end up getting a used takata grenade which could arguably be worse than no airbag

I just got my airbag recall done several weeks ago. Need to get the Mustang recall done.

The Takata Air Bar recall applied to the Steering Wheel and Passenger Dash only, not the doors.

Well when I bought the car several months ago they said it had been on when they purchased the car. I believe it was removed in order to gain access to the lock cylinder at some point.

But thanks for the replies everyone. I was just a little sketched out about buying a used airbag on eBay, but oh well it's better to have one than not.
