OK. I did, 200 miles today and no light. I'll wait for a few more key cycles to see if it holds up.

Continued to work on the exhaust. Cut all 4 flanges off only to realize the gasket is fused/welded on. Getting a new hanger from eBay and a new flange/gasket bolt kit in tomorrow night...hopefully finish up the car this week in time for track day next week!!! Also dropping one rim off to be straightened and balanced. Jesus this car is making me work for it.

Install is 50/50 easy just time consuming. Due to the fact that mine came with Factory AL/Bosch Bi-Xenon projectors, the threaded shaft is basically irrelevant.

One more day in finals, then I really need to update my build thread. What must be said is that I did my VANOS seals, and VCG obviously with it. Entirely new car. It never ran rough, and fixed my cold idle issues. you get muscle memory for how much gas to give for how much you'll move. Now with the same amount of throttle, you get less RPM's and go further. Honestly it borderline feels I got some forced induction magic down low. Engine feels like it's running smoother too. We'll have to wait long term for any MPG gains, but I love how much better the car feels. And yes, it is noticeably faster down low.

I think I need to take the time and do this. I've been noticing some hesitation on throttle application down low.

Next time turn that wood beam on its side. It's much stronger that direction.

Well, I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised by how much I like these Achilles tires. They are extra load, so the ride isn't the most amazing, but they are also a 40 series tire on an 18" wheel. They are a touch noisy on some road surfaces, but overall are pretty quiet. The tread compound is decently soft and they seem to grip well in the corners. I haven't driven them in any heavy rain, yet, though.

Did a quick polish of the headlights this evening. They aren't "like new," but it certainly made an improvement. Used some Maguires Plast-x polish and a Harbor Freight air powered mini polisher. Did the wife's '08 GTI, as well.

Replaced the airfilter and did an oil service. Next up is diff and gearbox fluid replacement, fuelfilter change and replacing the gearbox mounts. Somewhere in the not too distant future I want to do a Vanos revision (or have someone do it for me )

Put new fcabs on today, but I've got an xi and instead of buying expensive Powerflex or stock, I went with e36 non M centered bushings. Bought Lemforder from FCP, $30/pair and they pressed in easily with my home built press. Hopefully they will fix my 'brake shake', I'll test tomorrow once they're seated and adhered. I suppose for less than $100 I could have bought the Amstrong polys that I have on my e36 and not even needed a press.

First proper polish and wax in 3 years. Collonite wax makes water hate your paint. Thanks mango

Did the diff (AmsOil 75W90 Severe Gear) and trans (Redline D4) fluids on daughter's e36. Pulled the headlights on my pre-facelift e46 for polishing. Body guy had dent wizard come in and do the passenger's door on my e46 this week. Will likely pull the headlights on the e36 too so I can have fun with my 3M polishing kits.

Agree with previous post about Collonite. It's good stuff.
