The original bosch projectors are pictured in the post. You can easily see the difference in light output. I think the 1 g5-r puts out more than both bosch headlights.

And if he gets some black framed kidneys, that would look even better.

You're right. I was thinking I would try to spray paint/plastidip them black.
I need to see if I can get the dent between the kidneys removed too. It's kind of hard to see in the picture, but it's been there since I bought the car, and I should probably go see if someone can do PDR on it.

I don't think I would paint the originals, the aftermarket black ones are cheap and already painted

Oh okay i just saw i thought they were all the same but i notice the difference. How's it driving at night? much better? I've seen the one video on youtube about the G5-R on a E46 but i would like to see another version. Cause version one is only 1 projector instead of 2.

Just finished repairing my e46!! Yesterday the car overheated and dumped a bunch of coolant, luckily it was only the xpansion tank which had went under so much stress it cracked open. Car had new tank, and new coolant waiting for traffic to die down to test drive and make sure its not overheating

Couldn’t have said it better myself. I have it so the lo/hi bars disappear when I set it to Auto, so it leaves a hollow triangle. I don’t know why but I love it.

She’s still in the shop, but got a new steering giubo, new steering rack and an alignment.

Ordered a new cooling system, new rebuilt calipers (from the forum here) and new OEM exhaust from eBay. Should be all buttoned up and ready for the track by May 5!!!

It's finally warm enough in the northwest to paint some style 68s i got this winter. Used Dupli-color Gloss black and clear with some etching and filler primer underneath. I will let the wheels cure for about a week before i attempt to polish them a bit and mount new tires.

Tomorrow goes in the 3.64 differential!

Oil pan gasket diy finished. I owe 50's kid (Jason) a big Thanks .
For those of you about to do this, definitely replace the engine mounts while your in there. That's the most notable difference I've felt in a while since wrenching on it. The car runs incredibly smoother, feels livelier, and I may be guessing, but acceleration feels better because power is transferred better to the drive line? The originals were hard and over time lost some hieght.
I hope this helps.

Still in the shop...
  1. M3 engine mounts (Lemfoerder)
  2. Tranny mounts (Lemfoerder)
  3. Oil Change
  4. Oil pan gasket change (OEM) -- no more drips in my garage!
Wash if time permits (I don't think it will).

Yeah, my ZHP really vibrates when idling at a stop... my wife's 325 (new mounts less than 10K mi ago) feels like the engine's died, it's so smooth... looking forward to that!

Did you use M3 engine mounts or the stock ones? I need to do this and debating what mounts to get. Glad to hear its running smooth.

I'm changing to M3 mounts -- I'll report in tonight after the job's done

Edit: I put in regular ones back in my wife's 325 and it was so smooth after! On both I changed the tranny mounts as well.
