I am just doing a bit of research and considering all options.

Reverting back to the factory springs is looking to be my most likely course of action.

They are in good shape overall but the finish is starting to come off, which will be resolved by getting them stripped and powder coated.

Thank you for your input and for confirming that they will function effectively with Koni Sport struts/shocks.

anyone here who can give me some tips on Bilstein shocks and coilovers? Is PSS10 better than HD? or is it the other way around?

Bilstein B6 shocks are not adjustable, PSS10 has adjustable shocks. Start a new thread, tell e46f what you're trying to do.

PSS10s are a coil-over system. the struts and shocks are Bilstein compression and rebound adjustable by a dial on the units.
Bilstein HD are no way as complex. not adjustable.

people often buy coil-overs when they don't have a need to.

depending on what you need you're likely able to just buy Koni Sports or Bilstein Sport/HD and some good springs and be set for life.
