I would advise against running a virtual machine, specifically when it comes to flashing dme software and stuff.

I had top of the line quad core Alienware laptop with 16 gb ram running optimal specs for virtual machine.

What happened was more often than not, during flashing, laptop would hiccup and lag for only a second or so which would interrupt flash and that means you end up with a semi bricked dme.

The way to resolve it is to forcefully do a manual flash which isn't hard. If I were you, maybe look into dual booting OS like 7 32 bit.

His windows installation was messed up so he's formatting and doing a fresh install. He most likely won't need the virtual machine after the fresh install

HAHAHA, of course! Maybe I'll set up the spare tower and monitor in the garage then. I think it still has XP on it, if not I have XP discs.

I doubt the carsoft cable will work because the chips used are different

For errors? The thing is you can't just set a language. You'd need to translate the files into English, that's why some things are in English. Google translate is very helpful in this situation

The error window doesn't let you select text so it's a PITA to find translations. I keep getting a language error on start-up too.

The language error is fine. I know you can't copy paste, not sure why they made it like this. You can type it into your phone as it is quicker like that

Thanks for doing this. I set it up on a Windows 10 laptop and it seems to be working fine except for the black dots indicating battery and ignition. Does anyone else have this issue? I checked and cleared one old error code.

What about the black dots? Are they white or black with the cable connected?
