Ok, finally posting after doing the Bavsound stage 1 install.

I'm underwhelmed, frankly.

I will say the bass definition is improved, and there's a bit more clarity in the highs. So, yes, it's...

Played a few tracks that had some nice, deep bass,...

I've not even seen this.

I did see that there are Alpine versions of the headunit, though. (Same front, but just manufactured by Alpine. I forget who made the other one tho.)

Is it a straight...

OK, got a bug up my butt and decided to rip apart the rear enclosure to get to the speakers, really just to see what's back there. (And to give myself some options about what to replace them with.)

Just had a thought... I've read a few posts that say the mounting depth is really shallow back there. So, I might just take a knife/saw/rotozip to the opening and mount the speakers above...

Found some CDT drivers that would...

Touring owners: Who has done the Bavsound Stage 1 upgrade? (HK if you got it)

Seriously mulling this over. It's really not crazy expensive for the tourings, especially since you don't get the rear bass drivers. (Not included in this kit.)

Just that the sound in my 2002 E46...

YES!

I wonder what the weight limit is for the BMW bars... Laser weighs, what, 140lbs?

Just put my Laser away for the winter (in Minnesota, we freeze the lakes for a few months).

If i found the right donor, I would love to do this. Someday, I might even have the time and garage space to attempt it myself...

But for the sake of...

Was looking at a wall full of products at the parts...

VW MKIV R32 is giving my 325iT an inferiority complex

I store my RWD 325iT for the winter. It's still pretty close to mint. One of the nicest E46 tourings I've seen. Dinan exhaust, chip and strut bar. ZHP bumper and wheels. Manual transmission. Short...

I'm also curious about this swap.

After the donor car is procured, what's the cost for doing this? I'm handy enough (did the complete cooling refresh on my 325iT), but I...

325i - running rough on first drive of spring... you won't believe what happened next

I keep my 325i Touring garaged for most all of winter, with a battery tender on it.

We have both an E46 Touring (RWD manual) and an E90 Touring (xDrive auto). My wife drives the 2011 E90 all year long; my 2002 E46 stays garaged in the winter (Minnesota).
