Solenoids are very easy to remove on the 5hp19. No need to remove valve body.

Take them out and clean the screens.

CobraTransmission has a valve body kit they sell for the 5hp19 for about $175.00.

Not sure if it is a kit or just all the parts put together for a kit. It looks like it includes the springs found...

I've replaced the dampers in my ZF 5hp19 transmissions with the new ones from the rebuild kit. I have only found 1 that had a hole in it.

I was wondering what they were for. Good article, thanks...
