Sounds like you broke the same part that I did on my vert. The broken part is a small plastic "nub" that pushes against the release when you pull the handle. Mine broke when we locked the box...

I figured it out... The plastic nub that drives the lock pins broke... I got it open but now to disect the parts needed. by the way, the glovebox solenoid does control the lock with the master keys....
