iGO Primo Issues/Tweaks/Systxt thread

If you will, I've thought of starting a new thread dedicated to SYSTXT, tweaking and fixing iGO and Primo issues. It's getting to be a bit of a chore looking for IGO and Primo content in the Dynavin hardware thread. Jeff's thread is starting to look like flea market if it isnt already. So let's try to centralize software mapping issues, infos and tips here folks :wow: Maybe we can call this Darkoz's corner

Im gonna devirginized this thread and start off with an annoying issue, at least for me.

Is there a way to customize or eliminate the distance voice alerts when approaching a turn? For example: Eliminate the "In 800/300 meters turn left/right" alerts. I pref to hear only the last alert ie; "turn next left/right".

I ended up driving out of my way yesterday afternoon just so that I could get on an interstate. I figured there'd be no better chance of a speed limit being available than an interstate. Fortunately Primo did display a speed for the interstate.

I've driven around for week and half since I installed my unit on many significant roads and streets and none of them have had speed limits shown in Primo.

My tom-tom that is using maps from 4 years ago has speed limit information for these roads. I really don't understand the variance. Is it Primo, is it the maps? Speed limits are loaded from within the map files themselves right?

#383 ·
Yes, I had done it several times. The speed limit is working fine, just that the information for non-interstates (at least here in Kentucky) seems to not be there. As soon as I hit an interstate, where the information is available, the speed limit changes from "n/a" to the accurate speed limit. I also get the speed limit sign in the left corner where in have "speed limit always shown" checkbox checked.

Anyone having issues with the Dynavin v5 freezing while running Darkoz's files? It will get slow after about 10 minutes of use and then lock up and not come back till I restart the Dynavin. I'm using the same sys.txt that was in the original download from Darkoz, so I don't think it's anything specific to a customization I made.

I've been using the new Primo 1.2 for a week now, the content folder from Primo 1.1 works with the new 1.2 so your existiing maps, voices, dem etc. willl work with the new 1.2 version.
Initially the TTS voices would not work with the new version but after a bit of research and scouring some GPS forums where they found a fix for it, specifically from this forum.......http://www.mobilepassion.org/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=6026
I now have the all the TTS voices and everything else working no problem.

Visually it looks the same as Primo 1.1 albeit with a few different options in the settings, not sure whether it was worth the effort and time.
Take note though that customised skins and hacks made for Primo 1.1 do not work with this latest version at the moment but I'm sure there'll be plenty new ones available shortly for those that are into that sort of thing.

#392 · (Edited)
Glad you got it working immigrant
No voice command because Dynavin itself doesn't have that feature.
From what I can see see there are a few more options in the settings but apart from that it looks the same as Primo 1.1
I have no idea what TTS Pro is and most of the features in the settings are greyed out, you can probably check on iGO's website to see what all the new features are for Primo 1.2
The one thing that is noticeale is that Primo 1.2 now natively supports 800x480 resolution and the previous release didn't which is why you had to have a hacked data.zip file for 800x480 and even then most of the hacks only stretched the image to fit the screen, so visually Primo 1.2 does look sharper and clearer.

Thanks a million Darkoz for the new upload. I have been looking everywhere and could not find it! Everything went smoothly. I do have a question about the media player. I assume that will read off of the micro sd and the usb, correct? Thanks again.

New Primo 1.2 U.S Download

This is the new Primo 1.2 with native 800x480 resolution
Includes the North America, 3d buildings, dem, phoneme, poi, speedcam files etc. along with working TTS voices so it's all ready for you to use.

Just unzip the Darkoz_1.2.zip file and copy the iGO Primo folder onto your SD card.
http://www.filefactory.com/file/cafe28a/n/Darkoz_1.2.zip

You only need to add the USA map files.
The map files from Primo 1.1 will still work, so you can copy the map files from your previous Primo 1.1 to the content/map folder (or download link below if you haven't already got the US maps)
http://www.filefactory.com/file/b463gbg/n/Darkoz-US-maps.zip

Note:
- This info was gathered from a couple of sites, http://www.mobilepassion.org/viewforum.php?f=15&sid=c64f2cf234be90ea6ff895676799ea15 and http://fixmygps.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?fid=16 so I've just put it all togther for you and made it available for download.

- Custom skins, mapchangers and hacks etc. made for Primo 1.1 will not work with the new Primo 1.2.

- I recommend you not use any sys.txt file from any previous version of Primo, especially if you have custom entries related to any mods, custom skins or hacks as it most likely will not work with Primo 1.2.

- Only use the sys.txt included in this download and do not modify it unless you know exactly what you're doing and are sure it will work with Primo 1.2.

- The included TTS voice files had to be slightly modified to work with Primo 1.2, so if you add any other unmodified previous TTS voices they may not work.

- This will of course work for any country, you just need to copy the files from your particular region to the corresponding folders in the content folder.

That's enough disclaimers from me, enjoy.

Darkoz,

I just want to say thank you again for everything you do to help the rest of us Dynavin owners. Your work is very much appreciated!

I'll download these files and give 1.2 a try when I get home from work.

Thanks again!!

Darkoz,
I downloaded the new stuff and guess what...works like a charm!
Even Samantha!
One question...would there be a reason that you know of that canada maps won't work? Im not going there anytime soon.

#416 ·
I've tested it and it seems to work fine here
When you go in to the Map Settings and choose your day/night colour there is another option called Colour which has three options, Auto-Day-Night
If it's on Auto it will automatically switch from day to night and vise versa at sunrise or sunset or you can manually choose a day or night colour regardless of the time of day, so check to see what yours is set at.

#415 ·
Just installed it last night and works great, still not smooth, but I can live with it.

Besides I end up using my android for navigation since it includes traffic (and traffic re-routing). But it's nice to see some updates to iGo.

Thanks Darkoz, you make things so easy for everyone.

#417 ·
^^ Actually scrap that, I just tried it again and your'e right DANe46 no matter which other map colour you choose it keeps reverting back to the default colours on startup.
It's definitely some sort of bug, I'll have to look into this a bit more and see if I can find out what's going on.

#418 · (Edited)
DANe46 - If you want to use the Jove night map colours, I've managed a work around for the map colours reverting back to the default colours when you start up the nav.

First of all make a backup copy of your whole Primo folder for safe keeping if you haven't done so already.

Use Winrar and open the data.zip file (just double click on it, do not unzip it) in the main Primo folder.
Then go to ui_igo9 \ scheme \ night \ color.ini
Now open the color.ini file with notepad and delete everything and then copy & paste the text shown below, then save the changes.
A popup box will appear asking if you want to update the data.zip file, click Yes

This will replace the default night map color profile with the Jove color profile, in other words now when you go into Map Settings the Jove-night map colours will be the default night colour scheme.
Let us know how you go, I did this to mine and it worked no problems.
Copy & paste everything below this line (except for my sig which is just too much woman for any paste job)

I have got this installed thanks to Darkoz's download (top work mate!). I much prefer this to the Igo 8.3 software.

The one niggle I have is with the speed camera warnings. On IGO 8.3 if the speed camera audio warning went off I couldmanually mute it by pressing the camera warning logo on the screen.

When the warning goes off on Primo 1.2 I am unable to mute it. I either have to slow right down or have the audio warnings off (something I don't want to do).

Is there any way I can get the manual warning mute working on PRimo as it did on Igo 8.3?

Any help appreciated!

New download link for Primo 1.2

**Updated download link**

I've re-uploaded Primo 1.2 with the file name Engage.zip, get it while it's hot.

This is the new Primo 1.2 with native 800x480 resolution
Includes the North America 3d buildings, dem, phoneme, poi, speedcam files etc.
Also includes TTS PRO voices (announces street names etc.).......AUS Karen - UK Serena - US Jill - US Samantha

Download links -
Download and unzip the Engage.zip file and copy the iGO Primo folder onto your SD card.........

Fileserve download......http://www.fileserve.com/file/x98tPjN/Engage.zip

Torrent download (thanks to forum member loginfailed).......http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/6292481/Zokrad.zip

You only need to add the USA map files.
The map files from Primo 1.1 will still work or download link below for maps
Copy the map files to the iGO Primo/content/map folder
Maps download.......http://www.igo-maps.info/nac.php

Note:
- This info was gathered from a couple of sites, http://www.mobilepassion.org/viewfor...f895676799ea15 and http://fixmygps.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?fid=16 so I've just put it all togther for you and made it available for download.

Newbie Here...

I just purchased a Dynavin Unit for my E39 and I'm getting in installed on Tuesday. I just want to make sure I install Primo right. I deleted the GPS software off of the SD card and Moved the contents of the IPrimo folder onto the cards with the updated maps from the site provided above. Does that sound right?

Downloaded! I'm running into an issue though. I've ran into the same issue with Primo 1.1 and reloading it back into the card/usb drive normally corrects the problem

In the data fields on the non-route mode, It'll only display one field and it's usually the one thats highlighed in the menu that allows you to select what you want displayed (clock, altitude, compass ect ect). I've tried reloading v1.2 on the drive again but it won't display more than one data field at a time. Can you assist with the issue?

Also awaiting your updates on sys.txt The TTS again is drowned out by music from any source :)

I've tried reloading v1.2 on the drive again but it won't display more than one data field at a time. Can you assist with the issue?
Just to confirm, when you're in the map screen where the data fileld is shown on the bottom right of the screen, if you tap that it will expand into 3 different fields, is that what you mean?

Also awaiting your updates on sys.txt The TTS again is drowned out by music from any source :)
For louder nav voice, copy and paste this into your sys.txt file......

[dynamiccompressor]
compressor=1
a0=56806
thrs=24703
ratio=8 ;higher number = louder nav voice
gain=10 ;higher number = louder nav voice

iGO Primo 1.2 real time traffic?

From an internet blurb on iGO Primo 1.2's feature set:
"Connected services: real-time information
Routing and guidance can be optimized through live services on a navigation device via mobile network connections or embedded SIM cards. Google***8217;s local search function integrated in iGO primo® 1.2 looks up POIs online, based on the given location. Online Traffic delivers real-time traffic information, calculating the route by avoiding crowded road segments. Speed camera data is available online from classic data providers as well as from peer Alert Point Community members that report mobile cameras as they spot them on their way."

Has anyone tried this and gotten it to work on an internet-connected Dynavin? Very cool.

You need the ability to connect internet to the device.
I was able to get "Google Local Search" to work using the wifi hack...

In Settings there is a box to check for Online Traffic. I don't live in a very populated area, but will give it a go when I get to Denver next time. Concerning the wifi hack, the biggest drawback is that right now you need to manually select the ssid with every start up... It is being worked on but for now that's the way it is, so be advised before you jump.
