Introducing Betsy...

I finally got her washed up decently yesterday, and we found our lost SLR so here are some pics of my $300 1999 323i. She's a 5-speed. Interior needed floor mats and a new shift knob but otherwise is cherry.

Reason I say that she was $300 is that she has $2000 Hamann wheels and about $1000 worth of audio installed, and I paid $3300 for her.

My four kids named her "Betsy" so I decided her full title is "Baroness Beatrice of Bavaria". They now play a game driving down the road where you win if you're the first one to point out a Beemer. My 3 and a half year old girl has a gift for this. I asked her how she knows a car is a beemer - the roundel or the kidney grills and she said the grill.

Project List:

So far I have:
-Replaced old crappy broken and repaired stock shifter with gray glue gobbed all over it >>> bavauto lighted shift knob w/ black boot
-Removed old crappy bubbly purple tint from the rear window
-Replaced 5 broken door panel clips causing the driver's side door panel to be loose
-Replaced a broken right kidney grille
-Replaced inop wascherpumpe (original Deutsche spelling on the box lol)
-Replaced front control arms and bushings with Meyle
-Crawled under for a CDV delete and found it already deleted
-Replaced Differential oil (Royal Purple 75w90)
-Replaced Transmission fluid (Royal Purple Synchromax MTF)
-Replaced Front rotors (Zimmerman) / pads (Akebono)

To do list (needed):
clutch stop
VCG/plugs/VANOS rebuild
Belts/pulleys
Rear trailing arm bushings and differential rubber mounts
Fuel filter
front sway bar (rubber boots on end links torn)
Clutch rebuild (when the throwout bearing which is going out gets bad enough)
brake fluid flush

To do list (wanted):
Hood dent and front bumper scrape repair/repaint (or facelift hood)
Angel Eyes
Smoked or facelift turn signals
Better mirrors

Not bad, welcome! How many miles on her?

Interior is VERY clean for having 155K miles. Just need new floor mats.

I think there's one tiny spot of wear on the driver's seat if I remember correctly.

Looks awesome.

LOL yeah I noticed that. Betsy's fitment is just fine - I was messing with my two kids that I had with me...

Crawled under yesterday to do the cdv delete and found it was already deleted... Kind of dissapointed as I'm not crazy about the clutch feel and was looking forward to this helping. I guess I'll get a clutch stop and see how that helps.

I don't think 323i's came with a clutch delay valve as I bought mine from an older woman and found it deleted too. Unless she had driving habits and modding habits I wasn't aware of then idk.......

I confirm no cdv on 323's. They come without one. Clean whip man. And good choice on color

Put on new rotors and pads last night. Sloooowly shaping up.
