Plasti-dipped ENTIRE car

The day i discovered Plastidip was probably one of the best days of my life. Ive been dreaming of blacking out a whole car for a long time and have finally done it. So if anyone is wondering what it looks like pictures follow...

Feedback is welcome

And this is my first post btw

I like it.... and it's removable too, just in case you don't dig it anymore.

How many cans of PlastiDip did you use?

Your gonna be surprised. I actually bought 5 cans, I painted in a dim shitty lighting of my garage in 2 hours. After 2 days of touching up i still have 1 and a half cans left

Its funny because I started using it like everyone else, painting grills and emblems on my jetta. The idea of dipping the whole car was actually a big joke between me and friends. After a year of festering the idea in my mind.. I had to.

That looks awesome. How much did you disassemble the car? What did you do to prep it? Did you try peeling any of it off to see how much of a PITA it will be if you change your mind?

How well do you think it would stand up to getting washed? How many coats on there? I've been considering trying it on my rims but now I'm thinking a bit bigger as my paint kinda looks like poo.

Ok so with my past experience with this stuff... Basically 2 good coats and about 3 to 4 days hardening time will EASILY go through a car wash. I had my Grill on my Jetta done for a long time with no wear and tear and many car washes, this is just bigger scale.

And i totally support your notion to paint your wheels. Ive seen it done and it looks great!

Thanks for the info man, I'll have to check into this some more.

I've never used pasti dip before, how much do you have to worry about overspray and whatnot? Is it like spray paint in that regard? I imagine it doesn't matter much since you can just peel it off anything it's on.
