Code 1349 (Misfire Cylinder 4 With Fuel Cut-off ). What needs to be done?
The SES, rough idle, shaking, noises around the engine area came back, and my OBDII scanner shows just one code: P1349. Ok, so what should I start out looking at now?
Here's the thing: About 3 weeks ago, I was experiencing similar symptoms but the codes I got were different (P1085, PO171, PO174, PO313). I went to a shop and shelled out a massive $1700 to have my MAF sensor, ALL 6 ignition coils, and control valve/gasket/hose replaced. Basically, I got ripped off, but the codes went away and the car drove smoothly...until today...when the SES came back on. So from reading around here, ppl with P1349 code seem to have done different things: 1) replace oil cover gasket 2) replace "coil pack" (is this the same as an ignition coil?) 3) test the signal to the cylinder (how do I do this?) 4) replace spark plugs (i replaced all 6 exactly one year ago) I'm very confused (and inknowledgeable with cars). What should I be checking for now? |

When mine was having that problem, a replacement of the ignition coil was the remedy.

Since you know what cylinder it is swap the coil pack with one thats not misfiring and that should either rule that option out or tell you thats the problem
