tires making whining noise

I just had the new continental extreme contact dws installed and after about 300km, it began to make this whining noise. it gets louder based on speed, not engine rpm. it sounds almost like a timing chain. I thought maybe i just need to break-in the tires a bit. I do know the front lower bushings need to be replaced but I didn't have this noise before the tire change or for the first 300km on the new ones. anyone know whats going on?

Your old tires were probably worn into the bad alignment from the suspension parts you are neglecting to replace. Your new tires will be quickly destroyed if you don't fix this!

Loud tires could just be purely from the compound it is made of. Another possible issue would be wheel bearings humming, which mean that they are slowly going out.

Which can negatively impact your alignment and thus alter tire wear. Might want to have that taken care of.

I ran Nexen 3000's (225/40R18) for 20,000+ miles and they are incredibly quiet. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and durability of them considering they were a "budget" tire that came pre-installed on the set of wheels I picked up. My initial plan was to abuse them and burn through them quickly and replace them with a "quality" tire. I was very impressed with what I got.

Yeah my Nexen N3000's are pretty damn loud when compared to the OEM Conti's, BFGoodrich, and Pirelli's that I have all ran on the same car.
