e46 Airbag Light - Reset

hey guys, i have just swapped out my interior on my 2004 e46 coupe. but since removing the seats i now have the airbag light on the dash,

how is this reset?? can it be done like the service reset or is a tool needed?

yep you need the specific "peake" tool to do the reset. Turner and a few others have it

seen the tools priced between 50-100, otherwise a trip to the BMW dealer, seems a but steep just to have the light reset

Might be tempted to take the bulb out of the back of dash panel

But then how would you know if you had a legitimate problem with the SRS system?

Find a local mechanic with the tool to reset it for a couple of bucks. If they hassle you give them a false promise you will come back to have some work done to your car.

You could have a look on e46zone, it's more UK orientated e46 enthusiasts.

I know they have meets at places like Bluewater, and it's likely that helpful friendly people will be at these meets with their toys and tools who may be willing to do a favour for a fellow e46 owner.
