Jon, is your coolant light on by chance? I had the same burning smell. In my case, it was the thermostat needing to be replaced. Good luck man.

Not sure if you have angel eyes but mine caught fire 2 days ago where the connectors are since the connectors are **** and they arc causing it to catch fire. I cut off the connectors and soldered the wires back together.

...had a burning smell a few weeks back. my car's still under warranty, needed a new valve cover gasket. problem solved no more burning smell. may or may not be the same problem. it was intermitent for me but after "spirited" drives i could definitely smell it with the windows down at a stop.

I just had my thermostat changed and i still notice the burning smell. Did yours go away immediatly after you changed or did it take a few days to clear up?

Once my coolant light came on, it never went off. 3 years later and its still on.

I had the same problem. After getting on the gas it smelled burnt. One of my pulleys started to seize and was burning from the friction of the belt against the pulley. About a month later (while on the gas) the belt broke. GL

If its electrical burning smell then might be an alternator gone bad. I'v had this happen on my 01 maxima.

Valve cover gasket, coolant leak somewhere (expansion tank/thermostat/upper radiator hose), something leaking and landing on the exhaust manifold.. could be quite a few things really. I wouldn't be too worried, just get up to date on all the maintenance.

Is it a sweet smell? Or does it smell like burnt oil?

do you smell anything while in the car? I did in my car when my valve cover gaskets were leaking.
