Can you get drunk off of cooking wine??

Seriously, not that I want to, but I saw some in the pantry today and it said "14% alc by volume" and I wondered...hmm...?

Most of the alcohol evaporates when you cook with it. Are you talking about red wine reductions and such?

Yeah, if you don't shrivel up and die from the 2.5% salt content first.

Here's a rule regarding cooking w/ wine. If its not drinkable, then don't cook with it.

Wine that is labled 'cooking wine' would be my last choice to cook with.

Alcohol has a boiling point of 78 Celsius, compared to 100 of water. If you are boiling anything, the alcohol for the most part evaporates.

You can also get drunk on vanilla extract . . and cooking sherry . . . and even marischino cherries I think.

Your best bet though is that case of beer that's been sitting in your parents' garage for the last 5 years.

A buddy of mine got drunk off of cooking wine in highschool.

Never seen a guy throw up so much from drinking. We almost took him to the hospital he wouldn't stop throwing up.

No you don't have to be 21 to buy cooking wine. My dad told me one of his buddies had this great idea of drinking this stuff and got dog sick afterwards.

Probably the same case as above ^^^

Seriously... you're buying WINE with 14% ALCOHOL in it. Lets do put two and two together here shall we?

Wine + 14% Alcohol = drunk!

Wow, that was hard! And YES you do have to be over 21 to buy ALCOHOL!!! By god, I almost hurt my head using all this common sense.
