Can I go to AutoZone to reset an air bag light?

I disconnected the passenger seat harness to take it out and now I have an air bag light. After searching, I have found that I need to have the light reset.

I've had AutoZone us an ODBII scanner to read / reset codes (for free ). Can I take my M3 and have them do the same for it? Or does BMW use some sort of proprietary scan tool that I will have to go to the dealer for and get charged?

Thanks..

Does that mean there is a special BMW scanner tool that will do it? What will the dealer charge for this?

Thank you for your completely useless post and elitist attitude regarding BMWs. It is a simple technical question, not a comment on how the BMW is "better" than any other car on the road and requires special care and attention.

I have had ODBII codes read and reset on American and Japanese cars, my question was could it also be done on the BWM.
