How to disable Traction control on 330i?

I have a 2003 330i. When I hit the disable traction control button, I get a light on the display. But when I light up the tires, it spins for a minute then throttles back. Not wanting to burn up my tires but is there a way to totally disable the traction control? Thanks

Press and hold the DSC button. Hold it for about 5 - 10 seconds.

Thanks guys. I searched through the manual but couldn't find it. Either I'm blind or BMW doesn't necessarily want to advertise this little know feature...

Turning SC/TC off can be fun, but be careful.

The 2-Stage DSC didn't kick in until later 2001 I believe.

Yeah, mine has it. Mine was a November production.

Nothing in the dash says "break," instead it says "brake."

Anyway, I don't have any 2005 experience but with my car when the handbrake is used it turns red, if the traction control is off, it turns yellow. If the traction control is off and I apply the handbrake, the red overrides the yellow but when the handbrake is released the light returns to yellow.
